Patterson to announce MI Great Artist winner

Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson will reveal the winner of the second annual MI Great Artist contest during a Thursday evening reception and news conference at Park West Gallery in Southfield.

The five finalists are:

  • Kim Fujiwara of Rochester Hills, Mich.
  • Henry Heading of Lathrup Village, Mich.
  • Patrick McManus of Warren, Mich.
  • Victor Pytko of Birmingham, Mich.
  • Weatherly Stroh of Birmingham, Mich.

The MI Great Artist winner will receive a $1,500 cash prize and additional items such as exhibitions of their work and a free consultation with an Oakland County business development representative. The runners-up each will receive a $375 cash prize, among others.

MI Great Artist is a quality of life initiative by Patterson and Park West Gallery founder & CEO Albert Scaglione to identify and support Michigan’s up-and-coming 2D artists. Artists who are 18 years and older who also live, work, or go to school in the Economic Growth Alliance (EGA) region were eligible. The EGA region includes Oakland, Genesee, Lapeer, Livingston, Macomb, Shiawassee, and St. Clair counties.
