Patterson to receive Courage Award

According a press release, Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson will be among two individuals and two organizations to receive the Courage Award from the Oakland County S.A.V.E. (Serving Adults who are Vulnerable and/or Elderly) Task Force on Friday, June 6, 2014. The Courage Award recognizes individuals and organizations that have taken action to further awareness of or prevent the abuse and exploitation of vulnerable adults. Lt. Gov. Brian Calley will present the award.

The award is part of Oakland County S.A.V.E. Task Force’s annual Elder Abuse Awareness event. It will begin in the morning with a training session for first responders who will learn to recognize elder abuse and what resources are available. That will be followed by the awards ceremony at 12:30 p.m. in the Board of Commissioners Auditorium (1200 N. Telegraph, Pontiac, Mich).
