Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson wants residents to bring American Idol hopeful Jena Irene Asciutto home by voting for her after Wednesday’s live show on Fox Network. If she makes it through to the top three this week, Jena Irene will fly home Saturday for her hometown visit.
“Oakland County is very proud of Jena Irene,” Patterson said. “I want to make sure we’re doing all we can to get her to American Idol’s final performance to determine this year’s winner.”
Plans are already in the works for Jena Irene’s hometown visit if she moves on to the final three in Thursday’s American Idol results show. While details and the exact time remain in the planning stages, North Farmington High School likely will host the event Saturday afternoon or evening.
“Jena Irene is our ‘hometown queen,’” said Joe Greene, principal of North Farmington High School. “We want the nation to see the kind of hometown support Jena Irene has and what a great community we are.”
Meanwhile, Farmington Public Schools Superintendent Sue Zurvalec has recorded a message for Jena Irene to encourage fans to continue to support her. Watch her video here.
