Rochester, Mich. – Oakland University’s Department of Music, Theatre and Dance is offering the campus community and the general public an opportunity to unwind from their busy work weeks, mingle with fellow patrons of the arts and enjoy outstanding performances by seasoned professionals, remarkable students and guest artists.
Starting on Sept. 22, the Thursday Arts-After-Work series will exhibit the entire range of Oakland’s performing arts programs. Events will feature students and faculty members in large and small music ensembles, an opera, plays, musical theatre, modern dance and soloist performances.
Students, faculty and staff are invited to avoid the rush hour and community members are invited to come straight from work for an early night out twice each month. Refreshments will be available on the mezzanine outside of Varner Recital Hall beginning at 5 p.m. each event evening and performances will begin at 6 p.m.
Hoping to broaden OU’s reputation as a welcoming destination for community fellowship and celebration of the arts, MTD is offering tickets to the Thursday Arts-After-Work series for the unbeatable price of “pay what you wish.” They are available at the Varner Hall box office and online through Star Tickets at startickets.com.
