The Historical Quilters’ Society has just donated another quilt to the Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm. This dedicated group of quilters has been busy making four quilts, one for each of the seasons, to be displayed behind the front desk in the museum’s 1927 dairy barn.
The name of this new quilt is Tree of Life. The quilters are Chantal Anderson, Judy Doublestein, Lourena Freeman, Theresa Marcotte, Carolyn Mackaness, Dorothy Sedlock, Linda Vitali, Rita Weitendorf, Helen Williams and Rita Zaziski.
The group also made the red and white quilt that is on display in the 1840 Van Hoosen farmhouse. The images embroidered on that quilt tell the story of the Taylor/Van Hoosen/Jones family. They also made the friendship quilt on display at Rochester Hills City Hall as well as the reproduction quilt on Sarah Jones’ bed in the 1840 Farmhouse.
