The Rainbow Connection is pleased to announce the 2015 wish child chosen to ride along with Santa at the Hometown Christmas Parade on Dec. 6 in Downtown Rochester.
Maddy is five years old and lives in Clawson with her parents and older brother. Maddy came into this world fighting when she was diagnosed with Downs Syndrome along with numerous other medical issues. The struggle continued with her first battle with cancer when she was diagnosed with AML (Leukemia) in May 2011.
After three-and-a-half year in remission, her second battle with cancer occurred when she was diagnosed with ALL (different form of Leukemia) just last May.
She is six months into a two-and-a-half-year battle – but she is MADDY STRONG and continues to fight every day.
Maddy loves playing with her dolls, coloring, watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Dora, playing outside and giving hugs. She is so excited to be a part of the parade this year!
Held on Sunday, December 6, the Rochester Hometown Christmas Parade, presented by Genisys Credit Union, begins at 2:00p.m. at the corner of Tienken and Rochester Roads and continues south along Main Street in Downtown Rochester. Information on this year’s parade can be found at www.RRC-MI.com.
The Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce thanks their partners Oakland University, Crittenton Hospital Medical Center, Genisys Credit Union, Shelton Buick GMC, Boulevard Health Center, Fox Automotive of Rochester Hills, PAR Pharmaceutical, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and the Detroit Regional Chamber.
