Offering Opportunities to Impact Educational Programs
The Rochester Community Schools (RCS) Foundation Hometown Hustle, a 5K fun run/walk presented by Chief Financial Credit Union, will be held on Saturday, May 13. The 12th annual event is a treasured tradition that brings the community together to celebrate fitness, family time and fundraising. The Hometown Hustle attracts more than 1,100 participants and is the principal fundraiser for the RCS Foundation.
“We are so honored to be partnering with our platinum sponsor, Chief Financial Credit Union, and other community patrons who recognize the value in supporting our schools. We have some exciting additions to this year’s event to include a new start and end point at Chief Financial Credit Union, a stage (compliments of Oakland County Parks Recreation), a military honor guard, and music with DJ Joey Radio from Channel 95.5,” said RCS Foundation Director Lori Grein.
Early online registration is strongly encouraged. Adult registration is $22.50 and $12.50 for students K-12. Prices increase on the day of the race. Deadline for all online registrations is Monday, May 8 at 11:45 p.m.
“Chief Financial Credit Union is thrilled to be the presenting sponsor of the 2017 Rochester Community Schools Foundation Hometown Hustle. The RCS Foundation and Chief Financial share similar values in that we are both committed to seeing our community grow,” said CFCU Assistant Vice President of Culture & Relationships Lindsey Daines. “We are filled with excitement to play such an integral role in the day, being host to all of the friends, families and supporters of the RCS Community Foundation as they begin and end their race from our front door. Our Chief Financial team looks forward to being part of the day and working together with the RCS Foundation to make this the most successful event possible.”
Amidst the updates, the race route will essentially remain the same. “The Hometown Hustle brings community members of all ages together to enjoy the picturesque race route that runs through the historic neighborhoods of Downtown Rochester, the Rochester Municipal Park and the Paint Creek and Clinton River Trails,” said RCF Foundation Chairman and Volunteer Bob Justin.
