Join the Leadership Team at Relay for Life
Relay For Life is an event that brings together friends, families, businesses, hospitals, schools, faith-based groups, people from all walks of life – all aimed at celebrating the lives of those who have had cancer, remembering those who have been lost, and fighting back against the disease. The Relay For Life committee is looking for community members who wants to make a difference by joining the Leadership Team.
Specific areas in need of volunteers are:
- Entertainment; this committee is responsible to plan and implement a master entertainment and activities schedule that appeals to all participants.
- Relay Mission; Collaborate with event lead to plan and set goals for mission education on mission-related and share materials/resources about how the Society helps people stay well (prevention), get well (screening), finds cures (research education) and fight back (ACS CAN).
- Sponsorship: help with sponsor fundraising, recognition, and stewardship. Oversee event-level monetary sponsors, team-level monetary sponsors, in-kind sponsor materials/resources.
- Fundraisisng: Collaborate with all teams and team members to assist with fundraising efforts and host educational and inspiring fundraising workshops. fundraisers, etc.).
Anyone interested in learning more about the event as a committee member, a team, walkers, cancer survivors, caregivers, community leaders or anyone who wants to make a difference, please consider attending the event Kick Off on March 6 at Classic Lanes in Rochester Hills.
This year’s Relay For Life will again take place at the new location at St. John Hospital Cancer Center located at 1901 Star Batt Drive in Rochester Hills. The event will take place on June 17 from 9:00 a.m. to midnight.
