Rewolds Sell Royal Park Hotel in Downtown Rochester

Royal Park Hotel announces a definitive agreement to transfer ownership to an affiliate of Fairwood Capital. Moving forward, the hotel will be managed by Davidson Hospitality Group under Pivot, their lifestyle operating vertical.

Since 2004, Royal Park Hotel has been a staple in the Rochester community and southeast Michigan. The boutique hotel features 143 guest rooms, over 20,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space, and PARK 600, their locally crafted restaurant offering a variety of seasonal flavors with a European flair.

My grandfather, Roy Rewold, had a vision for the city of Rochester to build a luxury boutique hotel that would draw in guests from all over the world to enjoy his beloved city, and he was able to make that dream a reality. The decision to transfer ownership of the hotel was one of the most difficult our family has had to make, and one we did not take lightly,” said Ashley Rewold, hotel owner. I am honored to have had the opportunity to keep his vision alive and am excited for the next chapter that Davidson Hospitality Group will bring.”

The Rewold family has been deeprooted in the Rochester community for more than 100 years. After opening his business and being integral in community development and construction, Roy Rewold became the city’s first mayor. Roy’s son Frank is now at the helm of the family’s construction company Frank Rewold & Sons.

The hotel has been on an incredible journey since it began as a simple dream of the Rewolds, said Sue Keels, Royal Park Hotel’s General Manager and first hotel employee. “Working for the Rewold family over the last 18 years has been an honor and a privilege. The Hotel looks forward to being a part of the Davidson Hospitality Group’s Pivot brand and all the amazing opportunities that will become available to our city, the surrounding community, and the Hotel.”

Over the past two years, Royal Park Hotel has coined the term ‘Royal Park Warriors’ for its team members. The Royal Park team is a tightknit group of individuals committed to providing the best Every Day Luxury experiences for guests visiting both from the local community and across the globe.

“We’re grateful for our team and community’s support as the Hotel moves forward in the next part of our journey,” said Rewold. “We look forward to seeing all our friends and neighbors in the coming months as we continue the hotel and restaurant you all have come to know and love.”
