Road Closure Alert: Letica Road Paving Improvements

The Letica Road Improvements that were scheduled as part of the Oakland County local road improvement grant program are scheduled to begin next week. The road will be completely closed to traffic from the Clinton River Trailhead to just short of the southern drive to the Older Person’s Commission (OPC). Detour signs will be placed to route traffic down Parkdale and Elizabeth Streets. Site Specific signs are being created to inform drivers that access is available to the businesses and residential areas but no through traffic will be permitted as well as a notification to trailhead users routing them to the Diversion Road location for parking.

The anticipated road closure will occur between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The closure will begin next Wednesday (8/30) for milling and subgrade patchwork is completed. Bowan paving will create asphalt ramps for vehicular travel prior to opening the road to travel at the end of the day. The road will be closed again on Thursday (8/31) to allow for paving and striping. The goal is to complete the work in 48 hours, but may vary depending on weather and any unforeseen subgrade conditions. The city of Rochester was awarded two grants totaling $14,400. Oakland County Commissioner Adam Kochenderfer helped secure the funds for the city.
