Rochester Area Neighborhood Executive Director Riggs Resigns

Rochester Area Neighborhood House announced that Linda Riggs, their Executive Director, has resigned effective at year’s end. Linda, who joined Neighborhood House four years ago and has led the growth and impact of the organization throughout this greater area, will be relocating to New York State.

“It has been an honor and a privilege to assist our local families in need over the past four years,” stated Ms. Riggs. “It will be difficult to leave such a dedicated team of staff and volunteers. However, I know that I leave the future of Neighborhood House in good hands.”

Kathy Losinski, Chair of the all-volunteer Board of Directors of Neighborhood House noted, “Linda Riggs has been a servant leader, leading with skill and compassion. We regretfully accept her resignation and wish her the very best as she relocates. She will be missed. We are thankful for her many contributions to our community.”

Kay Smith, Board member and lifelong resident of the Rochester area, praised Linda’s accomplishments. “Linda has really raised the bar for client services. Under her leadership, the organization has expanded its outreach into the community, developing new programs dedicated to helping families toward self-sustainability.”

A search committee comprised of board members has been formed to identify Linda’s successor as Executive Director. In the interim, board leadership will work with staff to keep the daily operations of Neighborhood House functioning at the high level our clients have come to expect. A transition plan is already in place to ensure that all client services will continue.

Neighborhood House is a private, nonprofit human service organization that was founded by communities of faith in 1968. Neighborhood House has grown over the years and currently services any qualifying families in need from Rochester, Rochester Hills, Auburn Hills, Oakland Township, and Addison Township. The agency’s mission is to assist the community during times of hardship, and partner with the community and other social service providers to help struggling individuals and families move toward self-sufficiency. Neighborhood House works from a holistic model providing emergency financial assistance, counseling, job coaching, budget assistance, transportation, food assistance, clothing assistance and more to families throughout the service area.
