Rochester Ballroom Hosts Evening of Dancing to Benefit Students with Special Needs and Youth

Rochester Ballroom proudly announced that the RB Friends Gala will be held on Sunday, October 26 from 4:30 – 9:30 p.m. at the Royal Park Hotel in Downtown Rochester. It will be a fun night for all, celebrating dance performances of Rochester Ballroom students including their special needs team and their volunteers.

DSC_2091 The new “RB Friends” fund has been started in conjunction with the “Community Foundation of Greater Rochester” to assist students with special needs to experience the rewarding activity of ballroom dancing. Dancing is not only great fun, but also mentally and physically challenging, as well as socially involving them with other students, from teenagers to empty-nesters.

“The RB Gala is a fun night packed with entertainment from our star dance students including our students with special needs performing with their volunteers,” stated Alan Smith, owner of Rochester Ballroom. “The RB Friends fund has been formed in conjunction with the Community Foundation of Greater Rochester to support and expand our activities with the special needs community. Not only do our kids benefit from being involved but the whole studio benefits. Everyone is a winner.” Tax deductible tickets $75 per person and include hors d’oeuvres, dinner and a cash bar. Tickets are available at the Foundation www.cfound.org/rb-friends-gala or at Rochester Ballroom, 322 Main, Suite 220. For more information, call 248-651-7746.
