Rochester Community Concert Band presents ‘Home for Christmas’

The Rochester Community Concert Band will present their “Home for Christmas” concert on Tuesday, December 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the Rochester Adams High School Auditorium, 3200 W Tienken Rd, Rochester Hills, MI 48306. The concert is open to the public and free to attend, but you’ll have to mask up to attend. Donations are gratefully accepted.  

The concert will include, among others,” Sussex Mummer Christmas Carol” by Percy Grainger, “A Merry Heart and Soul” by Julie Giroux, a beautiful arrangement of “Silent Night” by Sean O’Loughlin, “The Eighth Candle” by Steve Reisteter, the popular Mariah Carey tune “All I Want For Christmas Is You” and “A Most Wonderful Christmas” arranged by Robert Sheldon.  Dr. Joe Bentley, Retired Professor of Music, Rochester University and the Executive Director and Conductor of the Choral Union of Rochester University, will narrate “A Christmas Tale (Beware the Krampus) by Randall Standridge.  

Santa himself will make a guest appearance conducting “Symphonic Prelude on Adeste Fidelis” and a seasonal favorite “Sleigh Ride.” Santa will also be available for pictures in the auditorium lobby immediately following the concert.

The Rochester Community Concert Band welcomes guest conductors P. David Visnaw II, Retired Director of Bands, Anchor Bay High School, and Holly Huber, Band Director.

COVID Precautions: For the safety of all, we ask all concert goers to wear a mask that covers both your nose and mouth while in the building, regardless of vaccination status, and sit spaced apart from other attendees not in your party.
