The Rochester Community Concert Band (RCCB) is pleased to invite guests to a free outdoor concert on August 8, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. on the east lawn of St. Mary of the Hills Catholic Church, 2675 John R. Road, Rochester Hills, 48307. In case of inclement weather, the rain date is Wednesday, August 9.
Donations are gratefully accepted and appreciated.
Selections to be performed include “John Williams in Concert,” “Blues Brothers Revue,” “Homefront: Memories from WWII,” “A Salute to America’s Finest” a medley of all the branches of our military service songs, “Nostalgia,” and “The Stars and Stripes Forever” by John Philip Sousa.
Several RCCB members will be featured in the concert including Collin Kasper, Alto Saxophone performing the jazz classic “Harlem Nocturne”, Alex Floury, Rob Roy, and Bridgette Tepper performing Leroy Anderson’s masterpiece “Bugler’s Holiday” and Alto Saxophonist Andrew Hemphill performing the virtuosic Hungarian Dance “Czardas”. Several of the RCCB Clarinets will also be featured in the immensely entertaining “Pie in the Face Polka” by Henry Mancini from the classic movie The Great Race.
RCCB is also excited to welcome two guest vocalists to this concert. Tenor Denzel Donald will sing Cab Calloway’s famous jazz scat songs “Minnie the Moocher” and “God Bless America.” Katie Kucemba, Soprano, will perform the moving “I Dreamed a Dream” from the hit musical Les Miserables.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy a fun evening of music.

The 80-member all-volunteer Rochester Community Concert Band is conducted by Paul F. DeRubeis. It includes adult community members, college students from Macomb Community College, and advanced high school students from greater Rochester and Rochester Hills. The RCCB is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax-exempt organization and accepts donations on their website.
