Rochester Community Schools Announces Appointment of New Administrators

Rochester Community Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of three new administrators for the 2011-12 school year.

Kevin Cumming has been named as the principal of Adams High School. Mr. Cumming has been with the district for twelve years and most recently served as an assistant principal of Stoney Creek High School. Prior to that, he was an assistant principal at Adams High School for ten years. Mr. Cumming also taught in Southfield and San Antonio, Texas.

Rachel Guinn has been selected as the principal of Hart Middle School. Ms. Guinn has been with the district for seventeen years and most recently served for the past three years as the assistant principal of Hart. Prior to that she served as an assistant principal intern at Rochester High School and as an interim assistant principal at Stoney Creek High School.

Michael Behrmann has been named as the principal of Van Hoosen Middle School. Mr. Behrmann has been with the district for thirteen years and served as the principal of North Hill Elementary for the past ten years. Prior to that he was principal at Brewster Elementary School for three years.  Mr. Behrmann began his administrative career with the Oxford Area Community Schools as an elementary principal where he served for four years.  He also taught several years in the Walled Lake Consolidated Schools as a sixth grade teacher and special educator.

These individuals were selected following a process that included application and interviews with a committee consisting of administrators, staff members and PTA parents.

It is anticipated that the district will continue to fill administrative positions that have been vacated by administrative retirements or appointments.
