Rochester Community Schools Summer Music Theatre Events

Summer Music Theatre continues to be an annual tradition for the Rochester area community. The following are two events to put on your calendar to check out:

SMT student scholarship event. Enjoy an evening of musical entertainment, and support the RCS Summer Music Theatre student scholarship program, on Friday, July 10, at 7 p.m. at the Rochester High School Auditorium. Suggested donation is $10, with priority seating at $15. Tickets are available at the door or at www.showtix4u.com. All proceeds benefit the SMT student scholarship program.

Children of Eden Broadway-style production. The Rochester Community School District is proud to present a new and exciting version of “Children of Eden.” Featuring a stunning score by Oscar® and Grammy Award® winning composer Stephen Schwartz, this version by German composer Manfred Knaak, takes Schwartz’ original score and arranges it for a full orchestra of 35-40 musicians. This is only the third time this version has been heard in the United States, and it is the first amateur production to be performed worldwide. Performance dates for Children of Eden are scheduled for Thursday and Friday, July 23 and 24, at 7 p.m., with two shows on Saturday, July 25, at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.
