Rochester Community Schools (RCS) welcomes Brittany Kunzelman as supervisor of the RCS Caring Steps Children’s Center, a year-round childcare program that serves children from six weeks through age five.
Licensed as a director with the State of Michigan, Kunzelman joins RCS with managerial and teaching experience in early childhood education. She previously served as director of a learning center and a preschool, where she managed enrollment, staffing, training, parent advisory boards, operations, and regulatory compliance. Kunzelman has also served as a bookkeeper and a family group infant and toddler teacher in Ann Arbor.
“We are excited to welcome Brittany to our district where she will attend to our youngest learners. She is an experienced and approachable child educator, whose warmth and passion for helping our children to learn and grow are a great fit for our RCS Caring Steps Children’s Center,” said Debi Fragomeni, deputy superintendent for teaching and learning.
Kunzelman earned a bachelor’s degree in early childhood studies from Rochester College and an associate’s degree in childcare from Washtenaw Community College. She is also a certified instructor in baby sign language. She has presented at the Michigan Association for the Foundation of Young Children and is the recipient of that group’s T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood Michigan Scholarship Program.
“I am passionate about providing nurturing childcare in a warm and loving environment,” said Kunzelman. “Rochester Community Schools has an amazing reputation, and I am proud to be part of the team.”
RCS Caring Steps Children’s Center in Oakland Township is operated by Rochester Community Schools, although enrollees do not need to live in the RCS district. Caring Steps provides exceptional childcare for newborns, infants, toddlers, and preschool children up to age five.
