Rochester Garden Club Announces Winner of Beautification Award

Each year, members of the Rochester Garden Club canvas the greater Rochester area to identify the most beautiful grounds and gardens maintained by local businesses. The winner of the 2017 Annual Beautification Award is The Downtown Café at 606 North Main. This popular eatery has a lovely outdoor seating area, with lush and lovely grounds full of blooms and gorgeous plants.

Owners Tim and Colleen Delaney are thrilled to be recognized. Tim does much of the work himself, as gardening runs in the family. “My grandmother taught me the most about gardening. We would start our flowers from seeds,” said Tim. “So, when we put this garden in I told the landscaper that I wanted lots of room for annual flowers, that’s my favorite part.” Tim’s customers not only enjoy the food at the Downtown Café, they can dine in a beautiful garden especially created for them.

Also recognized for their beautification efforts are The Rochester Brunch House, Great Oaks Welcome Center, Real Estate One, St. Ireneus, Hampton Apartments Welcome Center, Village Green Apartments, and Penny Black Restaurant. The efforts of these and many other businesses come together to make Rochester a beautiful place to live.
