Residents of the Clear Creek Subdivision enjoyed an exceptional entry display this summer, complete with an abundance of flowers, eye-catching boulders, stone walls and even a waterfall. It certainly caught the eyes of members of the Rochester Garden Club who awarded it the 2016 Beautification Award. This award is presented each year to a local business or public garden in the Rochester area with outstanding landscaping.
The entry display was installed and maintained by Brian Szliter, president of Arteva Homes. “My father was an avid gardener,” said Brian, “and we believe that a beautiful landscape is a key element of the overall design.” If you would like to see for yourself, the entry is located on Tienken Road, east of the Sheldon Road roundabout. Look for the 2016 Beautification Award sign in the entry.
Other Rochester locations receiving recognition for their beautification are Real Estate One, 1002 Main St.; St. Paul’s United Methodist Church on Romeo Rd.; The Rotary Garden by the Rochester Hills Public Library; and Great Oaks entrances and welcome center.
The Rochester Garden Club meets on the second Tuesday each month. Prospective members are welcome and information can be found on the website, www.RochesterGardenClub.org.
