Rochester High School Director of Bands named MSBOA Teacher of the Year
Mr. David A. Uhrig, Director of Bands at Rochester High School was named as the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association (MSBOA) District XVI Teacher of the Year for 2017.
To be considered for this honor, a teacher must be nominated by a fellow member of the MSBOA by submitting a candidates resume and writing a statement of support. The nominated teacher must also meet the following criteria:
1. Fundamental musicianship of the highest caliber.
2. Service to students.
3. Service to the community.
4. Service to the profession.
5. Consistency in the above categories for a number of years.
At the MSBOA Spring Meeting all the active members cast their vote and the results are promptly announced. On behalf of the band students, families of band students, staff and entire Rochester High School family, congratulations Mr. Uhrig.
