Thousands of people will head to Borden Park this Wednesday, June 27 for family fun, food, and fireworks at the Annual Festival of the Hills Fireworks Show.
The festival will feature activities for the whole family starting at 6:00 p.m. Children can enjoy the free petting zoo, RARA games, and even a nerf activity hosted by the Rochester Hills Public Library. Mojo in the Morning & iHeart Radio on-air personality, Joey Namou, from Channel 955 will be spinning family friendly music. Active and adventurous types will be able to enjoy outdoor adventure activities including a rock climbing wall and several large outdoor inflatables.
Guests will be able to select from a variety of food including elephant ears, cotton candy, pulled-pork sandwiches, turkey burgers, pizza, corn dogs, popcorn, kettle corn, shaved ice– and more.
The event is free to attend, thanks to the many businesses that support the event, admission and all activities at the event are free. Major event sponsors include Pulte Homes, GFL, Beaumont Health, Papa Joes, Hollywood Markets, and Meijer just to name a few.
“We have the most generous and supportive business community anyone could ever ask for. Thirty businesses raised their hands to make this event as large as it is and completely free to the public,” stated Mayor Bryan K. Barnett. “We’re equally thankful for our city employees, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office and all the folks that help make this a safe and enjoyable event.”
After the daytime festivities, families from all over Southeast Michigan will grab place their blankets and chairs on the grassy hill to enjoy the Rhodes Band, covering popular rock hits from the 90’s to today. At 10:06 p.m. the night sky will be lit with one the area’s largest fireworks show, featuring over 10,000 shots.
