Government Youth Council Gives Back to Local Charity
On June 17, runners and walkers will lace up their shoes and head to Bloomer Park for the Annual Rochester Hills Government Youth Council Charity 5K Run/Walk, sponsored by Omega Rehab Services and River Square Family Dentistry.
This year, all the proceeds will go to the Assistance League of Southeast Michigan, a nonprofit 501 (c), (3), hands-on all volunteer organization whose mission is to clothe, feed, educate and comfort infants, children, adults and families through our community-based programs. One of their signature programs, Operation School Bell®, provides new school clothing and necessities: coat, shirts, pants, hat, gloves, underwear, socks, hygiene kit, and a book, carried home in a new duffle bag.
“This is the ninth year that the Youth Council has coordinated this fun and exciting event,” states Mayor Bryan K. Barnett. “We are proud of the hard work and their passion for giving back to the community.”
The 5K Run/Walk will take place on Saturday, June 17 from 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at Bloomer Park. Bloomer Park is located at 345 John R Road Rochester Hills, MI.
Runners and walkers can register online at www.rochesterhills.org. On-site Registration will be available at Bloomer Park beginning at 7:30 am with a $5.00 increase for race day registration.
