Rochester Hills, Michigan– The City of Rochester Hills left a lasting impression on the star studded cast of the upcoming 2011 release of “A Reasonable Bunch,” as several cast members were honored with the first ever RHoscar (Rochester Hills Oscars) Award.
“A Reasonable Bunch” cast includes Ellen Barkin, Demi Moore, Kate Bosworth, Ezra Miller and Ellen Burstyn, among others. The film was shot in several locations throughout Rochester, Oakland Township and Rochester Hills.
“It is not every day that we have the opportunity to have a major production filmed here in our backyard,” states Mayor Bryan Barnett. “As long as Michigan offers the tax credits, we want those dollars flowing into Rochester Hill’s restaurants and businesses.”
The film officially wrapped last week; however, before they left, the cast visited City Hall for a chance to share their experience of what it was like to film in Oakland County. Mayor Barnett recognized Ellen Barkin, Sam Levinson (Director), and Ezra Miller with the “RHoscar.” Awards given included: Best Actress in a Leading Role (Ellen Barkin), Best Director (Sam Levinson), and Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Ezra Miller).
Making his directorial debut, Sam Levinson, son of Barry Levinson, first began meeting with city officials this past spring to begin scouting out locations.
“More than 50% of our production crew was local talent, and they all exceeded our expectations. They worked really hard,” said Sam Levinson, Director.
Barkin replied, “We fell in love with this community, and it was by far one of my best professional experiences.”
