Investigators are looking into the death of a 22-year-old man who was found dead on the side of a Rochester Hills road on Sunday Morning.
Deputies responded along with the Rochester Hills Fire Department to the area of Avon and Glouchester on an unresponsive male, not breathing and without a pulse. It was reported the subject may have been struck by a vehicle during the overnight hours. The subject was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Rochester Hills Fire Department (RHFD) and had obvious signs of head trauma. It was determined the subject had been to a party the night before and was headed to an area hotel with friends when an argument occurred. The subject exited the vehicle and was going to walk home and had not been seen since that time, around 22:00 hrs. When he did not return home his girlfriend and family members went looking for him this morning, discovered him in the ditch, and began CPR.
Deputies Notified Detectives to respond to the scene who in turn requested the assistance of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) Forensic Science Laboratory along with the OCSO Crash Reconstruction Unit to assist in the investigation. An Investigator from the Medical Examiner’s Office arrived and took custody of the deceased. An autopsy is pending for Monday morning and Detectives are continuing with the investigation.
With no sidewalks in the area where the man was found, deputies said the incident looks to possibly have been a hit-and-run accident. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-773-2587.
