Seeks Inputs From Community
The City of Rochester Hills is currently in the process of updating the Parks and Recreation Master Plan for 2016-2020.
An online survey has been posted on the city website to allow residents to share with city employees opinions of the current park system and proposals for undeveloped park properties. The survey will be available from January 11 to February 11, 2016. Hard copies of the survey are available at the Mayor’s Office.
Survey participants will be able to share their thoughts on a variety of topics including funding distribution, improvements, and the quality of the parks that they have visited.
In late January, a draft of the 2011-2016 Parks and Recreation Master Plan will be posted on the city’s website for public review and comment. Here is the current plan date 2011-2015.
“Having residents share their thoughts about the future of our parks system is invaluable information for our team,” stated Mayor Bryan K. Barnett. “The more people we can get involved in the planning process the better job we can do on delivering our community’s collective vision.”
Park enthusiasts are also invited to participate in two separate public input forums which will be held at the Planning Commission meeting on January 16 and at the City Council meeting on February 22. These forums are an open discussion format with no formal presentation.
