Rochester Hills, MI- Rochester Hills has enjoyed remarkable success in their economic development strategy and are seeing immediate results of companies they have worked aggressively to attract and retain.
Bright Automotive is a company focused on delivering innovative, fuel‐efficient electrified vehicles and engineering solutions for commercial and government customers. Just last week, Bright Automotive announced that they have entered into an agreement with AM General LLC to be their exclusive North American assembler for the Bright IDEA vehicle platform, an all-new, plug in hybrid electric work-truck. With this announcement, the company has an immediate need to hire 32 engineers.
“Bright appreciates the continued support from Frankel Developments and from the City of Rochester Hills administration, in our efforts to move forward with this important project. We will now be able to aggressively move forward with hiring plans for our Rochester Hills’ location,” states Mike Donoughe, Chief Operating Officer.
Webasto Roof Systems, Inc., headquartered in Rochester Hills, also has an immediate need to fill 24 jobs. “The improving business climate, and our success with new contracts drives us to require more talented resources in many areas, including purchasing, quality and engineering,” states Brett Healy, President and CEO.
Additionally, as a result of a contract with GM Ventures, Sunlogics, a global solar energy systems provider specializing in solar project development and installation, anticipates a $30 million investment in the community and plans to create 200 jobs by 2013.
