Website Connects Residents with Non-Profits in Need
www.JustServe.org, is a free website that connects community organizations, is in need of volunteers with families looking for opportunities to use their extra time to do some good this summer.
JustServe is a new online tool that promotes service opportunities in your community so you can make a difference wherever you are and however you want to volunteer. Through this site, organizations have the opportunity to submit projects at no cost.
“Volunteers are an essential part of what makes Rochester Hills such an exceptional community,” said Mayor Bryan K. Barnett. “This new website will help make finding those opportunities even easier.”
Interested residents can create an account and search for volunteer opportunities by zip code, date, and category. Families can also easily find opportunities where young children can participate.
Rochester Hills resident April Cook volunteers as an administrator for JustServe in the Southeast Michigan region. “When we reach out to help others and make an impact for good we are more grateful and happy as individuals,” states April. “When we give of ourselves we receive so much more in return. Service makes us better people, better families and strengthens our communities.”
Organizations wishing to have their information listed may contact local JustServe representative April Cook by email at cook-a@ldspublicaffairs.org or phone 248-705-7755.
