About one o’clock this afternoon a tree next to our parking lot, but on library property was struck by lightning. To say the least it scared everyone in the building at the noise was loud and the building seemed to shake. The bookmobiles and cars in the parking lot are undamaged. No one was hurt.
After troubleshooting the phone outage issue our IT Manager has discovered that the lightning strike we had this afternoon completely burned out our external phone lines. He is in communication with our phone vendor as well as AT&T. At this point the damage is seems to be related only to the external phone lines. As a result inbound and outbound calls are not available.
