The Rochester Hills Public Library (RHPL) is Hosting their very First Comic Fest
This free, family-friendly event is taking place all day on Saturday, September 15, at the library, with great activities for everyone to participate in. With games, a costume contest, food trucks and local artists selling some incredible artwork, there’s no shortage of entertainment.
“We’re very excited to bring the energy of a convention to RHPL and give our patrons a chance to participate in unique events for free,” said Community Relations Specialist Amanda Harrison Keighley.
Throughout the day participants can enjoy a sword-fighting demonstration, buy lunch from the GoCheez & Grillwich Tot Shop food trucks, and meet the Ghostbusters and other characters.
Costumes are highly encouraged and may even be rewarded in our costume contest.
“We will also have local author Matt Faulkner give a presentation on his graphic novel Gaijin: American Prisoner of War and artist/author team Anne & Jerzy Drozd will be teaching workshops on how to make your own mini comic book for kids, teens, and adults, said Adult Services Librarian Kricket Hoekstra, “There will be something for everyone.”
