Rochester Hills Resident Runs Every Street in the City

Sandy Stiner Completes 500 Mile Challenge

On May 20, Rochester Hills resident and avid runner Sandy Stiner set out to run every street in the City of Rochester Hills.

22 weeks later, she completed nearly 500 miles, met new people, discovered unique features of the city, and has a story for nearly every neighborhood.

“I realized how much I really loved this city,” states Sandy Stiner. “There’s so many hidden parks and little trails that lead from one subdivision to the next. There’s just so many things I didn’t know were out there and now I know where everything is at in the city.”

With just four miles left to achieve her goal, Stiner asked Mayor Bryan K. Barnett to join her as she finished her last section.

“There is always such a great feeling when you accomplish something that hasn’t been done,” states Mayor Bryan K. Barnett. “I was honored that Sandy allowed me to join her on her journey.”

After four miles, the run ended in front of the Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm. Sandy was greeted by her friends and family holding a finish line ribbon. After, the celebratory group enjoyed cider and donuts.
