As New Day Foundation for Families continues to grow – now serving nearly 150 local families facing cancer each year – it has recently added staff and board members. President and co-founder Gina Kell Spehn today announced the addition of two Rochester Hills natives: Kevin Beers to the Advisory Board and Nancy Benedettini as Director of Finance.
Beers joins the advisory board after having been passionately engaged with New Day for several years. He serves many roles in the community in addition to advocating for New Day. Kevin is public relations coordinator for HealthQuest Physical Therapy in Rochester Hills, a member of the Rochester Community Schools Board of Education, PA announcer for Oakland University Basketball, and an independent songwriter. He, his wife Melissa, and their four sons reside in Rochester Hills.
Benedettini joins the New Day staff in the new role of director of finance. She brings expertise in accounting, finance, HR and benefits management to New Day’s growing team. Nancy and her husband, Steve, have three sons, are active in the community and started the local 100 Faithful Friends giving charity. The couple also had the honor of serving as Grand Marshals in the Rochester Area Hometown Christmas Parade in 2017.
“We are so pleased to welcome Kevin and Nancy to the New Day team,” said co-founder and president Gina Kell Spehn. “They are both so respected in our community and eager to bring their resources to us. With their help, we can raise awareness of Cancer Related Financial Toxicity (CRFT) and its devastating effects on families.”
For more updates, New Day offers the community a weekly E-newsletter with updates on the local families who are facing cancer and receiving assistance, events hosted by the organization and helpful links from the cancer community.
