Rochester PD holds fundraiser for family of Patrick O’Rourke

It was reported by WXYZ.com that Officer O’Rourke was with four fellow West Bloomfield Police Officers who responded to a call of shots fired at a house at 10:10 p.m. Sunday.

A gunshot through a bedroom door killed O’Rourke.

It was fired by 50-year-old Ricky Coley who later took his own life. Coley was going through personal, legal and financial troubles and was being evicted from the family’s house.

A mass for her husband is set for Friday at St. John’s Catholic Church in Fenton.

Amy O’Rourke (widow) Four small children and other family members plan to attend a candlelight vigil set for 7:45 p.m. tonight at the West Bloomfield Police headquarters on Walnut Lake Road.

And a trust fund has been established for the couple’s children under “The Patrick O’Rourke Family Trust” and contributions can be made at any Bank of America branch.
