12 Restaurants to Choose From
Restaurant week returns to downtown Rochester. Beginning Friday, August 23, visitors and regulars to Rochester will have a few deals to choose from when they get hungry. Running for 10 days, area restaurants offer a special menu.
A dozen local restaurants are participating with providing dining deals for lunch, dinner or both. This is chance for people to get a deal at their favorite place to eat, or an incentive to try somewhere new for a meal.
Lunch and Dinner
Most restaurants are providing a special menu for both lunch and dinner. They include Rojo Mexican Bistro, Rochester Mills Beer Co., Penny Black Grill & Tap, Penn Station East Coast Subs, O’Connor’s Public House, Mr. B’s Food & Spirits, Kruse & Muer on Main, Ganbei Chinese Restaurant & Bar, and Blackbird Bistro featuring Tower Pizza.
Alexis Zuccaro, the general manager at O’Connor’s, told Rochester Media that many of the guests during Restaurant Week come out to “explore” new food spots and use it as an “excuse” to try something new. O’Connor’s is offering some of its favorite lunch items at half off with purchase of a beverage and they are knocking $5 off dinner items. Zuccaro said their pub wants guests to try their regular items for a discounted price, as compared to designing a special menu just for the week event.
Many of the other restaurants are offering a “fixed rate” menu where patrons can order from a specific menu set at $10 to $15 for lunch and $20 to $25 for dinner. For example, Kruse & Muer’s dinner selections are Summer Shrimp & Lobster Pasta Primavera, Cedar Plank Salmon or Twin filets Marsala – your choice for $25.
Dinner Only
The Hibachi House Bar & Grill and The Meeting House are both participating in the week event with special dinner menus only. Both are relatively new to downtown.
Lunch Only
One restaurant is offering a lunch only select menu for Restaurant Week. The Brookshire at the Royal Park Hotel has any lunch item for 20% off during the annual event.
