Kevin Hanson, co-owner of Hansons Running Shop and co-founder of the Hansons-Brooks Distance Project, will help kick off the 15th Anniversary of the Clinton River Trail at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, at the Rochester Hills Museum at the Van Hoosen Farm. The museum is located at 1005 Van Hoosen Road in Rochester Hills.
Everyone is invited to this complimentary annual membership meeting of the Friends of the Clinton River Trail. Light refreshments will be provided including complimentary trail mix, courtesy of Kar’s Nuts.
Hansons has trained runners on the trail since the start. 2018 Boston Marathon winner Desiree Linden was a team member and trained for many years on the Clinton River Trail. “We have benefited from the development of the Clinton River Trail for years,” said Hanson. “Our runners know every mile.”
The scenic Clinton River Trail, spanning 16 miles through the five communities of Rochester, Rochester Hills, Auburn Hills, Pontiac and Sylvan Lake in Oakland County, is celebrating its 15th anniversary throughout 2019 with a year-long calendar of programs and events for all ages.
Volunteers with Friends of the Clinton River Trail (FCRT) are encouraging hikers, bikers, walkers, birders, canoeists, kayakers plus fishermen and women to take to the trail and enjoy the area history, many sights, amenities and great recreational fun.
