The Rochester Area Neighborhood House is planning the first-ever Scare Away Hunger event to raise money for its food pantry. This family-friendly event is scheduled for Rochester Municipal Park on Sunday, October 23.
The day will kick off at 3 p.m. with a 5k run/walk open to all ages and abilities. From 3-5 p.m. near the park pavilion, Fogler’s Orchards will provide pumpkin rolling races and an autumn-themed obstacle course. There will be dance presentations by the RARA competitive dance team as well as face painting, crafts, a scavenger hunt and snacks. There will be a raffle with opportunities to win gift cards and prizes.
Family activities are free. Race participants should register by October 14 to get a free T-shirt. The race will be chip-timed and there will be prizes for male and female winners by age group. The 5k fee is $20 for students, $25 for individuals and $60 for families.
