The Older Persons’ Commission (OPC) is hosting its 2nd Annual Scrapbooking/Crop on Saturday, September 21 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. This marathon event will feature meals, vendors, door prizes, individual workspaces, and more. This fundraiser will benefit the Act of Kindness program and is open to the public. The OPC is located at 650 Letica Drive in Rochester.
Participants will be assigned a table at which they can scrapbook from morning until night. They are encouraged to be bring basic supplies, but several vendors will be selling templates and specialty items. Other forms of crafting are also welcome, and Wi-Fi will be available for online scrapbooking. Share ideas, socialize, and create. There will be something for everyone.
Raffle tickets will also be sold during the event for the Grand Prize of a Cricut Explore Bundle and prizes donated from local companies including: English Gardens, Rainforest Café, Signed Memorabilia from the Detroit Pistons and Red Wings, Applied Fitness Solutions, and Fit Body Boot Camp. Breakfast and lunch will be provided by Cedarbrook of Rochester, and dinner is provided by Pomeroy Living Orion.
All the funds raised from this event benefit the Act of Kindness program, which provides minor home repairs to low income seniors so they can continue to Age in Place in their homes and community. The OPC is proud to offer this service to the community.
Registration is $55 per person. For an additional $5, attendees can be entered to be “Queen of the Crop,” receiving a special table, tiara, and more. Registration forms can be found online or by visiting the OPC. Gently used scrapbooking supplies are also being accepted as donations.
