Rochester Hills Public Library and Rochester Writers present the Second Annual Small Business Saturday Author Fair

The Rochester Hills Public Library (RHPL) and Rochester Writers are seeking local authors to participate in the second annual Small Business Saturday Author Fair. The fair is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, November 28, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at RHPL. It has yet to be determined if the fair will be in-person or online. Self-published and traditionally published authors are encouraged to apply.

“The inaugural Author Fair last year was a literary treat for the local reading and writing community,” said Michael Dwyer, founder of Rochester Writers. “We look forward to highlighting a wide range of local authors and their books to the Greater Rochester Area.”

“We are always excited to collaborate with local organizations, particularly those who share a love for reading and writing,” said Juliane Morian, library director. “The Author Fair is an example of how the library can motivate reading in person or online by connecting writers and readers in the community.”

Authors can fill out an online application. Applications are due by 5:00 p.m. on July 31, 2020. Selected authors will be notified in early October.

The Rochester Hills Public Library, located at 500 Olde Towne Road in Rochester, MI, provides lifelong learning opportunities, instills a love of reading, and offers equal access to information. The library serves as a community town square where over 45,000 monthly visitors enjoy innovative ways to learn and socialize through a variety of programs, including Sunday concerts, a summer reading challenge, parent-child workshops, and weekly lectures. The library’s expansive and user-friendly database allows its 70,000 cardholders to use eBooks, movies, and music downloads, language and genealogy services, and consumer reports at no cost.

Rochester Writers is a local literary group that provides news and information for new writers, working journalists, and published authors. The organization hosts contests, writing groups, and an annual one-day writers’ conference at Oakland University.
