The Crash Reconstruction Unit is assisting deputies from the Rochester Hills Substation in the investigation of a serious injury vehicle crash that occurred on Livernois Road near River Bend Drive Thursday at 10:53 a.m.
A 24-year-old female resident of Shelby Township was operating a 2001 Pontiac Montana northbound on Livernois Road when she drifted left of center and struck a 2005 Jeep Liberty that was traveling southbound. The Jeep was operated by an 18-year-old resident of Rochester Hills. The driver of the Pontiac Montana had to be extricated from the vehicle and was life-flighted to Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital in critical condition.
There were four passengers in the Pontiac Montana at the time of the accident, one adult and three children. The front seat passenger was a 23-year-old female resident of Rochester Hills who had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to Beaumont Hospital in Troy and currently listed in stable condition. The 3 children seated in the rear of the vehicle were not injured in the crash, but were transported to Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak for observation.
The operator of the Jeep Liberty complained of a minor injury and was not transported to the hospital.
This crash remains under investigation.
