Shepard’s Folly to Perform at the Rochester Hills Public Library

The Rochester Hills Public Library’s Sunday Concert on March 25th at 2 to 3:30  p.m. features the Celtic group, Shepard’s Folly.

Shepard’s Folly is the musical quartet of Phil Shepard (flute), Patti Anne Lea (vocals, guitar, bodhran), Marty Somberg (fiddle) and Ray Kamalay (guitar, vocals).  Their myriad of talents enliven a wide variety of Celtic music, from tragic songs and airs to fiery jigs and reels, from ancient Ireland and Scotland to contemporary America.  This music, played in pubs throughout Ireland and the British Isles to this day, is a music tempered by centuries of struggle and suffering.  It brings people together from all walks of life to share in its joy, hope, healing and compassion.

The concert is free, but registration is required and open to those with a Rochester Hills Public library card. To register go to the Events Calendar at www.rhpl.org or call 248-656-2900.

The Rochester Hills Public Library is located in downtown Rochester two blocks east of Main Street off of University Drive on Olde Towne Road. For more information, call 248-650-7124.
