Should a Woman Preach?

Women hold high ranking offices in government and business, yet controversy remains on feminine participation in religious ministry and leadership.

The Rochester Hills Barnes & Noble will host author Lori Wagner for a meet-and-greet signing event celebrating her newest release Preach Like a LadyThe handbook for women in ministry has received high praise. Dr. Janet Trout, Board Chair of Urshan Graduate School of Theology, called it well-written, a journal for the journey, and a candid ‘how-to and how-not-to’ approach to ministry.” Daniel Koren, author of He Called Her, said, Lori Wagner has captured what it means to be a woman who serves the Lord in pulpit ministry.

“Honestly, I did not want to write this book,” said Wagner, “but the need for it compelled me to take on this massive project, and reader response has been tremendous.” The subject of women in ministry sparks strong sentiments but Wagner professes the biblical and historical record supports active involvement of women in ministry and the church benefits from the contributions women provide in pulpit ministry and in organizational leadership. “I hope to encourage women to optimize their gifts and abilities,” said Wagner, “and I’m very excited to share Preach Like a Lady with my neighbors and friends.” The public is invited to the Rochester Hills Barnes & Noble on November 19, 2017, from 2:00 –4:00 p.m.

Lori Wagner, founder of Affirming Faith, is an ordained minister and recognized evangelist who travels and speaks internationally. Preach Like a Lady is her twenty-first published book. Rev. Wagner serves as a committee member of the Women in Ministry Network and in leadership with the World Network of Prayer. She is currently continuing her education at Urshan Graduate School of Theology. Actively involved in her local church, she and her husband, Bill, are parents of four children and they make their home in Clarkston, Michigan.
