The Rochester Downtown Development Authority (DDA) has a lot going on this summer and many of their signature events kick this off this weekend.
Back for its 64th Year, Sidewalk Sales is THIS Weekend
Back for its 64th Year, Sidewalk Sales kick-off on Thursday, July 11
Sidewalk Sales will run Thursday, July 11 and Friday, July 12 from 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, July 13 from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Sidewalk Sale displays will be located along Main Street and side streets in Downtown Rochester. Kids can partake in a craft daily from 12:00 noon – 3:00 p.m. in front of City Tavern (423 Main).
Dancin’ in the Street
On Friday night, get movin’ and groovin’ for the return of Dancin’ in the Street. Dancin’ in the Street takes place on W. Fourth Street from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Enjoy live music featuring the band SpaceCat, as well as, a TasteFest from local Rochester eateries.
Rochester Explorers Club
Annual Rochester Explorers Club
Join the adventure this summer with the Sixth Annual Rochester Explorers Club. Kids of all ages are invited to get outdoors and explore everything that Rochester has to offer. This year includes an amazing array of adventures, including making your own toy, stargazing and everything in between.
Kids can pick up their free Explorers Club Kit during Sidewalk Sales, July 11 – 13 at the DDA Information Booth, located at the corner of Fourth & Main. The Kit will include the Official Adventure Guide, with over 35 activities to choose from. Complete each activity and bring proof to the sponsoring Explorer Station to receive a special activity badge, unique to that activity. Explorers will have from July 11 – August 3 to complete their activities.
Movies in the Moonlight
Continue the fun on Saturday, July 13 with Movies in the Moonlight and The Greatest Showman. Movies in the Moonlight is located in the parking lot at the corner of E. Third & Water, one block east of Main. Featured movies begin at dusk (approximately 9:15 p.m.) and pre-shows start at 8:30 p.m. Admission is free, so arrive early for the best seating. Movies in the Moonlight is BYOC (Bring Your Own Chairs). Food and drinks will be available for purchase, but you are welcome to bring your own. Movies in the Moonlight continues on July 20, 27 & August 3.

Movies rated PG-13 are edited versions whenever possible, however, parental guidance is still recommended. Pre-show activities include a presentation from The Striped Circus on July 13, Christmas in July on July 20, Dig for Treasure July 27, and Dress like a Superhero on August 3.
