Family-Fun Fitness Event Featured in Rochester at the Older Persons’ Commission
The cold weather won’t stop Rochester area residents from getting active this January at the Older Persons’ Commission’s (OPC) Sixth Annual Indoor Triathlon. Open to individuals of all ages and athletic ability, the Indoor Triathlon takes place on Saturday, January 16.
“I love doing the Indoor Triathlon at OPC because it is a great facility, they have terrific volunteers, and it is a friendly competition. The aspect I love above all else is that it is open to all ages.” Linda Tingley OPC member.
Participants will swim in the OPC’s 25 yard lap pool, bike 20 minutes on one of the center’s new spinning bikes and then end their competition with a 20 minute run on the indoor track. Everyone is welcome to work at their own pace and the OPC Health & Wellness staff will be tracking distance.
Sign up as an individual or as a team of 2-3 people with each person competing in an event. Individuals will compete in all three events.
All ages are welcome. Medals will be awarded to First, Second and Third Place winners in each age group by gender. “The Triathlon is a great way for grandparents, parents and families to get involved and get active together,” said Matthew Speirling, OPC Health & Wellness Department Head.
Register by January 8, 2016 to take part in this family-fun fitness event. The OPC is located at 650 Letica Drive in Rochester. The first heat of the Triathlon begins at noon on January 16, 2016.
