Ski jumpers fly high after dark! Don’t miss the 2010 Skiers Pier King of Darkness Night Ski Jump Event at Groveland Oaks County Park on your Saturday night must-do list! The top 10 professional water ski jumpers from around the world will compete on Stewart Lake. You’ll see skiers jump more than 230 feet in the air at speeds in excess of 75 mph. This high energy show takes place under the lights!
The action is non-stop! Between main event rounds, Spray Masters, a premier show ski team, will perform barefoot and trick skiing and wakeboarding.
The event runs 6 – 11 p.m. with vendor display booths and live music beginning at 6 p.m. The main event starts at 7:30 p.m. Concessions are available for purchase during the event. Coolers (no glass containers) are permitted.
Entry is $10/vehicle or FREE with an Oakland County Parks and Recreation 2010 annual vehicle permit.

On August 3, 2010, Oakland County voters will be asked to vote on the renewal of a 10-year millage of .2415 for the purpose of operating, maintaining, improving, and acquiring parks and recreation areas and facilities in Oakland County, Michigan. For a home valued at $200,000 the homeowner pays less than $25 a year to support the Oakland County Parks.
