Sleepy Black Bears at Cranberry Lake Park

Oakland Township Parks and Recreation Is Partnering With Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve for a Special Preschool Event

The busy animals of the parks are starting to slow down. It must mean one thing: winter is almost here. Before it gets too cold outside, join Oakland Township Parks and Recreation to enjoy one more adventure from Cranberry Lake Park. For this special class, a Dinosaur Hill naturalist will be marching everyone with their own stuffed animals through the trails while collecting materials to build houses and shelters to stay warm and learn a little about hibernation (participants are free to bring their own stuffed animals from home, but there will be plenty to choose from). After the hike, everyone will warm their toes inside by putting together hibernating bear crafts to take home and enjoy a snack that’ll warm the participants from their toes to their nose. The Dinosaur Hill naturalist will read a final story of the year and share favorite memories of the season.
