Small Business Saturday in Downtown Rochester

Join the merchants of downtown Rochester on Saturday, November 26 for Small Business Saturday. Small Business Saturday is a day dedicated to strengthening the community by supporting local small businesses. The Rochester Downtown Development Authority has joined more than 400 advocacy organizations that have made it a mission to bring business to their downtown areas on this day.

Now in its sixth year, Small Business Saturday serves as the ceremonial kickoff to the holiday shopping season for small businesses across the United States. This year, Downtown Rochester is proudly participating in Oakland County’s Small Business Saturday initiative. Holiday shoppers who enter a picture of their receipt from a purchase made on November 26 at a small business in Oakland County are eligible to win $5,000, courtesy of North American Bancard. One second prize winner receives $2,000, courtesy of Flagstar Bank, and third prize is a $500 voucher towards travel on Southwest Airlines at Flint Bishop International Airport. In addition, Rochester Downtown Development Authority (DDA), will offer free carriage rides from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on November 26. The carriage rides will pick-up at the corner of W. Fourth  & Main Street. Rides will be given on a first come, first serve basis with no advanced reservation accepted.

The Big, Bright Light Show will also be aglow on November 26 begin at 5:00pm and lasting until Midnight. The light show will run nightly through January 1, 2017. In addition, Friday Night Carriage Rides will be on December 2, 9, 16 and 23. Friday Night Carriage Rides will be stationed at the corner of W. Fourth and Main from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. each Friday and will cost $15 per ride.
