Snow Cleanup Update for Oakland County

The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) continues to deploy every available resource to cleanup from Oakland County’s record snowfall yesterday.

As of 8 a.m. Monday, RCOC has about 100 plow trucks out across the county as well as about 10 road graders. Additionally, private contractors have been hitting the back roads since about midnight.
Right now, most of the freeways and primary roads are in relatively good shape (most have a thin layer of snow, but have been plowed and are quite passable). They hope to begin to get into the subdivisions around noon today. Once that happens, it will take several days to get through them all.
The forecast of low temperatures overnight tonight is a concern, and the RCOC will salt only in some areas in an effort to avoid creating slush that will refreeze tonight.
The RCOC thanks to everybody for their patience as they work to clean up one of the largest snows on record for our region.
