The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) will close South Boulevard between Coolidge Highway and Adams Road in the communities of Troy and Rochester Hills for the Borden Drain culvert replacement beginning July 16. The culvert is just west of Coolidge Highway.
Once the culvert replacement is complete (approximately July 21) the eastbound lanes of South Boulevard from Adams to Coolidge Road will remain closed for the reconstruction for the duration of the project. Westbound South Boulevard will open to traffic following the culvert replacement.
The detour route during the culvert replacement and eastbound traffic closure is South Boulevard to Squirrel Road to Square Lake Road to Crooks Road, back to South Boulevard and vice versa.
South Blvd carries approximately 10,360 vehicles daily.
The contractor for the project is Pro-line Asphalt of Washington Twp. The South Blvd. work is expected to conclude approximately mid-September.
