Magic of the Movies
Older Person’s Commission (OPC) is giving the community the ol’ razzle dazzle with its latest show – Magic of the Movies. The 650 Players will perform song and dance hits from cinema’s greatest movies beginning April 30. Lunch and Performance shows run April 30, and May 1-3 for $15 per ticket, with a special matinee-only finale on May 4 for $10 per ticket.
Enjoy performances of La Vie En Rose, Ain’t No Mountain High Enough, and All That Jazz. Every song promises to transport audiences into the silver screen. Arrive as a Tom, Dick, or Sally and leave a Toe-tapping Fred Astaire, Judy Garland or Hugh Jackman.
Co-directors Taylor Morrow-Johnson and Asia Hicks will be making their OPC directorial debut with the Players, but neither are strangers to the stage. Morrow-Johnson has a master’s in performing arts and leads a local high school drama department. Asia Hicks has directed countless variety shows and is an experienced actress. Musical director, Michael Pacaholski is an accomplished musician, who leads the Players through each musical number.
Dianne Bubnar, Director of Enrichment and Performing Arts shared her excitement for this show, “The players have worked tirelessly putting together a fun, exciting, and refreshed performance. Taylor, Asia, and Michael are great to work with and keep up the energy. I’d recommend our spring musical to everyone.”
Tickets can be purchased by calling 248-608-0251 or at the cashier’s window 8:30 – 3:30 p.m. Monday – Friday. The Players are always looking for individuals who have a passion for performing. For upcoming workshops and events, visit www.opcseniorcenter.org.
