ITC Presents Rochester Community Schools Foundation with a Grant for STEAM Initiatives
The Rochester Community Schools Foundation is honored to be the recipient of a $5,000 grant from ITC Holdings Corp to be used for initiatives which promote Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) education. ITC Regional Manager Cynthia Stump presented a check to RCS Foundation Board of Directors member Barb Rill at the recent RCS PTA Council STEAM Career Exploration Fair.
“As a company that promotes innovation and STEAM education, we are pleased to support the work of the Rochester Community Schools Foundation and the organization’s efforts to increase STEAM-based programming to area students,” said Local Government & Community Affairs and Philanthropy Director Donna Zalewski, ITC Holdings Corp.
RCS Foundation Board of Directors member Allan Schneck was inspired to apply for the grant after talking with Stump. “Through our business relationship, I learned about ITC’s generous support of programs that provide opportunities for students to excel in STEAM education. It made sense to connect ITC with Rochester Schools where STEAM education is such a high focus area,” said Schneck. “We are honored to be the recipient of ITC’s generosity.”
The RCS Foundation partners with the Rochester Community School District to support and advance learning for all students by obtaining contributions for academics, arts, and athletics. “On behalf of the RCS Foundation, I would like to formally thank ITC Holdings for their support of our efforts to enhance STEAM education. Through their generosity, ITC is leading by example and making an investment in our children’s future,” said RCS Foundation Director Lori Grein.
