Stoney Creek High School Celebrates their Students and Community

Stoney Creek High School is excited to celebrate the meaning of their battle cry ‘We Are SC!’ Stoney Creek Cougars Paw

On November 1, parents, staff and friends of Stoney Creek High School will come together for a celebration and fundraiser benefitting Stoney Creek’s unique ‘Support the Tradition’ Fund which impacts every student attending Stoney Creek High School.

“The phrases ‘We are SC’ and ‘Support the Tradition’ both refer to Stoney Creek’s long-standing commitment to supporting our students and our community,” according to Stoney Creek parent and the event’s coordinator, Sally Anglim. “In addition to Stoney Creek’s strong commitment to academics, the ‘Support the Tradition’ fund was designed to support students’ involvement in athletics, music, clubs and activities, effectively impacting every student in the school. In turn, our students continue the tradition and are often found supporting our Greater Rochester community as members of the schools’ clubs, teams and music programs.”

Particularly noteworthy is Senior Jacob Ruehl who is offering the opportunity to take this theme one step farther by supporting a broader community. Ruehl’s yearlong Independent Study will raise funds for the Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund whose mission is to support Michigan-based soldiers who serve and protect our country. Ruehl is selling tribute ads ($10 each or 3 for $25) in the ‘We Are SC’ event program. Individuals are asked to submit text-based tributes for people who they want to recognize for their service to our country. All proceeds from these tribute ads will be donated to the Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund. More information can be found on the Stoney Creek website.

The ‘We Are SC’ Celebration and Fundraiser will be an enjoyable social event for parents, staff and friends of Stoney Creek High School and will include a strolling dinner reception, cash bar, silent and live auctions, raffles, music, and more. The auction will feature exciting, yet diverse, items such as a commissioned musical piece by Stoney Creek’s own choir director and composer Dr. Brandon Ulrich, autographed sports memorabilia, weekend entertainment packages and more.

Members of the community are invited to attend this event, donate items to the auction or purchase a sponsorship or program ad. Early Bird discount tickets are now on sale allowing guests to save up to $15 per person if they purchase by September 26. Businesses or individuals who donate by Friday, October 10 will be listed in the event program. All donations are tax deductible to the extent of the law.
